Come newfound vegans, curious carnivores, longtime vegetarians and serious eaters of all kinds to a vegan immersion experience beyond Alicia Silverstone’s wildest dreams. From June 16 to 17, Soho’s 82MERCER will be transformed into the home of The Seed, a festival dedicated to teaching people of all lifestyles how to flourish inside and out by incorporating the countless benefits of a compassionate, healthy, environmentally-conscious existence.

The all day extravaganza features food vendors from New York’s finest vegan restaurants (including Clean Plates-approved, upscale vegan mainstay Candle 79 and Pure Food and Wine), engaging speakers such as New York Times bestselling authors Kathy Freston and Victoria Moran, screenings of award-winning films like Forks Over Knives, incredible cooking demos — want to learn how to make vegan ice cream without a machine? — musical entertainment, prize giveaways and more.

When you’ve had your fill of mouthwatering desserts from the Cinnamon Snail food truck, check out Bust Magazine’s Vegan Craftacular, featuring a curated collection of DIY vegan art from local independent artists. There are also opportunities to meet fellow health conscious individuals, discover the advantages of a plant-based lifestyle and delve into the variety of cruelty-free products and services on display.

You’ll leave feeling all warm and fuzzy, since proceeds from the event will benefit The New York Coalition for Healthy School Food, an organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of New York’s students, and Mercy for Animals, a national organization that aims to prevent cruelty to animals.
